More about programs

How she became a HY Worker:
She herself encountered unpleasant behavior from her peers and hints of bullying when she was growing up. When she was deciding on her future direction, she was attracted by the offer of the non-profit Christian organization Lighthouse.

Through the HY programs, Barbora is able to engage with the youth, bringing them healthy values and encouraging them that even in challenging life situations they can find the Light and the Hope.

Local ministry background:
Barbora grew up in a family of a pastor and a missionary. From a young age, she was led to Christian values and a relationship with God. In her teenage years, she went through a challenging situation in her life, reached the imaginary bottom of her strength and began to cry out to God and pray. In 2016, she was baptized. Today she is an active member of church. She is especially dedicated to serving the youth, both in her home congregation and within the non-profit Christian organization Lighthouse. She is also involved in running a leisure creative club for girls. She says, “Here, I try to pass on healthy values and practical skills that the girls can use in their lives, in addition to creating.”

She wants to encourage young generation that they can find the Light even in challenging situations.

Barbora joined the team of the Lighthouse organization in 2022. Under the guidance of a strong team of colleagues, she was well trained. She can now support her team in the long-term implementation of the Healthy Youth programs in primary schools in her region.

Barbora leads the programs in an interactive way and, in addition to important information, she also conveys to children the healthy values and an attitude of self-responsibility over life decisions. She wants to show children values that are not completely popular and visible in today’s world, such as the importance of family or the acceptance of one’s own value.

Barbora is also involved in the leadership of a leisure club called Narnie. It is a club for creative teenage girls, focusing on various creative activities, cooking, baking, as well as encouraging friendships and healthy life values.
She also participates in preparing and realizing of summer camps for children.
